CBSE ACTIVITIES ON INDEPENDENCE DAY CONDUCTED FOR CLASSES VI–VIII
In accordance with the CBSE guidelines regarding activities related to events of national importance, various engaging and educational activities were conducted for students of Classes VI to VIII to promote patriotism, creativity, and awareness about India’s freedom struggle.
Class VI – “Letter to Soldiers”
Students of Class VI participated enthusiastically in the Letter to Soldiers activity. They expressed their gratitude and respect towards the armed forces by writing heartfelt letters appreciating their courage, sacrifice, and dedication towards the nation. The activity helped students develop empathy, patriotism, and respect for the defenders of the country.
Class VII – “Build Your Own National Symbol”
Students of Class VII showcased their creativity by designing a new national symbol/logo representing modern India. They thoughtfully explained the significance of the colours, values, and ideas reflected in their designs. The activity encouraged critical thinking, innovation, and understanding of national identity and values.
Class VIII – “Build a Newspaper Front Page”
Class VIII students worked in groups to create newspaper front pages based on important events from India’s freedom movement such as the Dandi March, Quit India Movement, and Independence Day 1947. Through charts and live newspaper presentations, students demonstrated their historical understanding, teamwork, and presentation skills in an engaging manner.
All the activities were conducted successfully with active participation and great enthusiasm from the students. The initiative helped foster national pride, historical awareness, creativity, and collaborative learning among learners.
