A distinguished former IAS officer, Shri V. K. Shunglu rose to serve as the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India in 2002. In recognition of his exemplary contributions to public administration and governance, he was conferred the Padma Bhushan, one of India's highest civilian honours.
An alumnus of St. Stephen's College, University of Delhi, Shri Shunglu is widely admired for his integrity, administrative excellence, and unwavering commitment to public service. During his illustrious career, he held several key positions, including Principal Secretary in important ministries, and represented the Government of India at prestigious international institutions such as the IMF and the World Bank. He also served as the Chairman of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and as a Member of the Prime Minister's Council on Climate Change, among several other distinguished assignments.
Shri Shunglu headed the renowned Shunglu Committee, constituted to examine alleged irregularities related to the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. His incisive leadership and commitment to transparency reinforced his reputation as one of India's most respected administrators.
A visionary leader and an institution builder, Shri Shunglu continues to make invaluable contributions to the field of education. Through his guidance and leadership, he is playing a pivotal role in strengthening the educational framework and upholding the ethos of the Delhi Public School Society, inspiring excellence and integrity in generations of learners.
