Shri V.K. Shunglu (I.A.S Retd.)
Hon’ble Chairman, The DPS Society

A distinguished former IAS officer, Shri V. K. Shunglu rose to serve as the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India in 2002. In recognition of his exemplary contributions to public administration and governance, he was conferred the Padma Bhushan, one of India's highest civilian honours.

An alumnus of St. Stephen's College, University of Delhi, Shri Shunglu is widely admired for his integrity, administrative excellence, and unwavering commitment to public service. During his illustrious career, he held several key positions, including Principal Secretary in important ministries, and represented the Government of India at prestigious international institutions such as the IMF and the World Bank. He also served as the Chairman of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and as a Member of the Prime Minister's Council on Climate Change, among several other distinguished assignments.

Shri Shunglu headed the renowned Shunglu Committee, constituted to examine alleged irregularities related to the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. His incisive leadership and commitment to transparency reinforced his reputation as one of India's most respected administrators.

A visionary leader and an institution builder, Shri Shunglu continues to make invaluable contributions to the field of education. Through his guidance and leadership, he is playing a pivotal role in strengthening the educational framework and upholding the ethos of the Delhi Public School Society, inspiring excellence and integrity in generations of learners.


Ms. Vrinda Sarup (IAS Retd.)
Chairperson, DPS Knowledge Park-V

After attaining a Master's degree in History, Ms. Vrinda Sarup joined the Indian Administrative Services, holding positions of responsibility in the Government of India. An IAS officer of the 1981 batch, she has served as Secretary to Government of India in the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resources Development and in the Department of Food and Public Distribution.

Ms. Sarup has worked in the sector of Education for over 23 years, both at the Central and State Governments, where she has rich experience both in implementation and policy making. She has been closely associated with the formulation and implementation of some of the most significant national programmes of the District Primary Education Programme and the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan for elementary education and the revised Vocational Education Programme at Secondary/Senior secondary level. She has played an instrumental role in revision of pre-service teacher training programmes, the national pupil assessment and the assessments of school performance systems.

The DPS Society and DPS Knowledge Park-V in particular, stand to benefit tremendously under her guidance and astute leadership. The school is blessed to have her as the Chairperson, at the helm of affairs, leading the school forward with her brilliant vision, born of rich administrative experience in the field of education.
